8K a year Front Desk Associate Job Summary Under the general supervision of the Executive Director of Operations, the Front Desk Associate courteously welcomes patients to the clinic and effectively processes and maintains patient information, physician schedules and communications.
Essential Job Responsibilities Primarily receives patients at the time of check out; assures patient's phone number(s) and address are up to date in the EMR system.
Assists the Registration / Check-In staff when necessary; ensure all patient demographics and insurance information is up to date, collect co-pays, obtain consents, and collect patient forms.
Schedules return appointments per orders entered by physicians, APPs and registered nurses received in the Admin Pool in the EMR system.
Efficiently navigates and completes tasks in the EMR system (Cerner).
Follow up with patients regarding No Show appointments according to administrative policy and procedure within a timely manner.
Reschedule appointments at the request of the patients within the timeframe provided by the physicians / APPs in a timely manner.
Maintains patient medical records by scanning required documents in the appropriate sections of the EMR.
Sorts and distributes incoming mail.
Operates phone system and promptly routes calls to appropriate individual.
Monitors and manages the incoming faxes of the front desk area.
Other Job Responsibilities Performs other related duties as assigned.
Maintains collaborative working relationship with all other employees.
Upholds strictest confidentiality.
Minimal Qualifications Education High School Diploma (required) Experience 1 -2 years medical office experience (preferred) Independent Action Under general direction, functions independently in coordination of assigned duties.
Refers to the Executive Director of Operations as appropriate on clarification of practice policy and procedure.
Supervisory Responsibility None.
Human Relations/Customer Communications Communicate verbally and written with employees, physicians, patients, patient family members and the public as a representative of the practice.
Personal Protective Equipment Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided by practice and must be worn when there is a reasonable risk of occupational exposure to blood or body fluids.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
